About Osogovo
Osogovo is a clean mountain world of crystal streams, green forests, rocky ridges and lakes, with deer and wild strawberries. The region is rich in archaeological sites, churches and monasteries, and its villages keep their own customs, folklore and traditional food.
From early spring to late summer, herbs grow on its high pastures along the Bulgarian border, among them thyme, peppermint and wild mint. Osogovo is thought to be the Mount Orbelus of ancient writers.
